Vogue Festival 2015

Saturday, May 30, 2015

The Vogue Festival 2015 was, if possible, even more spectacular than previous years (if that were possible.) Taking place at a new venue of the Royal College of Arts instead of the Southbank Centre, there was a myriad of talks, stalls and masterclasses taking place over the two days.

I attended the 'How to become a Successful Magazine Editor' and 'Breaking into Fashion Photography' masterclasses, and have to say they were fantastic. Each featured roundtable talks from multiple experts, sharing their secrets of the trade.

Aswell as the masterclasses, there was so much to do, including a Vogue Cover shoot- where I got my makeup done professionally and a photo taken (it felt weird to be the one behind the camera for a change!)

I also got to watch 'Trend Talks' from various Vogue fashion editors, explaining all about new season trends and asking various members of the audience to put different outfits together.

I also got the chance to experience a make over from Bobbi Brown and a hair styling session from Keratase- I went for the makeup but opted out of the hairstyle as time was pressing on.
There was a Vogue shop with various souvenirs and fashion items, books and clothing pieces as well as a manicure bar and Cafe. The cafe was ideal for recharging after a busy morning of rushing around!
The atmosphere was another aspect which truly made the festival as amazing as it was- fashion figures from all backgrounds gathering together under such a prestigious name is something that cannot be rivaled. I spoke to a few people who had traveled from China and Australia just to attend!
You can see more of the festival on Vogue's website here, but I would definitely recommend going next year to soak in the fun, fashion and fabulous-ness!
